Sure, there's some success stories but it's nonetheless shocking to see just how badly certain schools rated. Two that really surprised me were Aberdeen Elementary and Alger Middle (bottom 2%). Unless I'm mistaken, those 2 encompass some decent neighborhoods also. No wonder private school is so popular.

Kentwood and Wyoming aren't anything to write home about either.

Teacher or student, huh?

Some of the individual schools as linked aren't that obvious, notably to those who may be new to the area.

Neither, my parents took me out of GRPS after 6th grade because they didn't want me to go to Westwood. I think it's pretty much common knowledge that GRPS flat out sucks. I don't see how any of this is an eye opener.

Maybe not, but having the actual DATA is important. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to go looking now for schools in the Holland area to see how they compare.

Common knowledge for who, those who have lived here for awhile or those who live elsewhere and want to learn more? So what's the school situation like for say, Ithica NY? Common knowledge, right?

There are a number of good school districts in the Grand Rapids metro area, so I'm not sure why you're jumping all the way to Holland.

If I remember correctly, allbusiness lives in Holland.
