I am considering a job in Grand Rapids (Spectrum Health) and know very little about the area, though I hear it is very nice there. One of the biggest considerations will be services for my 3 yo son who has Autism, as well as schools for my 6 yo who is typical.

1. What are the best therapy (ABA) programs in the area?
2. Are there provisions in Michigan law regarding insurance companies paying for Autism therapy?
3. What are the public school autism services like?
4. How are the public schools in general, or more specifically where are the best public schools?

I'd try getting in touch with the Kent Intermediate School district special education office. They're a sort of pooled resource for small school districts that let them have more comprehensive ESE programs than a 1200-2000 student district could normally have on their own.
