There are 3 veterans who have won their claims for SS disability, and would like to get out of the Dormitory unit at the Veterans home, who are looking for low income housing, or section 8 housing. All 3 have stated that they prefer to be outside city limits, but close to the city, say no farther than Sparta, or Coopersville, or Byron Center, or Ada. All 3 will try to apply for section 8 housing.

Their SS Disability payments will be less than 1200 a month for each of them, so finding income controlled housing is a must, and remaining close to the VA Clinic, or having access to it, is also a controlling factor.

All are good people, 2 have their own vehicles. One needs to be near the bus line. None drink, one smokes.

A good 1 bedroom, or cheap 2 bedroom would be nice.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I know Kentwood definitely has a few options, so I did a quick search:
Apartments and Affordable Housing in Kentwood, MI

I happen to know that Tamarisk, Metropolitan, and Countryside are Section 8. I can't vouch for any of them though, and I don't know if they fit their needs.

I do, however, think Kentwood would be a good place to start your search, and I would bet there's more than what's listed in the link. Especially near 44th Street, Breton Road, and Eastern Ave, which are the Rapid routes through there.

None of those places listed are near a bus line. I think you can, however, get The Rapid to pick you up if you live in Kent County outlying areas.
