Hi again everyone...Hope all had a great thanksgiving!

I posted several weeks ago with some questions about the lifestyle in GR and west to the lakeshore...just realised that I need to ask about police/fire protection and response time in an emergency -- is that something we could rely on if needed? Also we'd need to find good doctor and hospital care. Any recommedations?

Your input is much appreciated! Thank you...

I've only ever used the police three times since moving to GR, so I have kind of a mixed reaction about there response time. My wife's girlfriend had her car broken into by our house on a Saturday and it took them four hours+ to respond, now this moringing my wife's car got broken into and the cop was there within minutes, and another time some guy creamed a Cobra as he forgot to apply the brakes and turn the steering wheel in a timely fashion while trying to execute a right hand turn, and the cops got there pretty quick too

In the City of Holland, the response rate for police or fire is within 2 minutes usually. the rest of Ottawa County varies based on how rural the area is and where the particular sheriff units are at the time. Sometimes you get lucky.
