Grand Rapids is beautiful city. I don't know whether or not it will be the next Portland, but I think things are looking very good.

Grand Rapids will never rise to the level of great cities. In order to thrive, cities need to welcome outside thought. This is a closed society. The "you ain't from here" attitudes, especially in the SE areas, will eventually bring GR to Detroit standards.
