I'm 53, just moved to GR due to remarrying. I know no one here! I need to know if there's a welcome wagon type social club. I'm not working yet, don't have children here so my interaction is very limited. Where can I find a neat group of ladies who might be in the same predicament?

That's what I was going to suggest too, but if you aren't religious and don't go to church, then maybe a book club at your local library or volunteering in some capacity would help you meet people.

I live in the Alger Heights area and they seem to have a kind of network thing going on. Maybe the neighbor hood your moving to has something like that too.

Mason is a nice small town, very close to East Lansing and Michigan State University... so it has a good mix of working class and middle class people. It has a traditional town square with courthouse and small businesses. The downtown is very nice and worth a visit.

But you might be on the wrong forum to get information about Mason. It is not in the Grand Rapids area, but is close to Lansing. You might have better luck with this question on the general Michigan forum.

I'm relocating to Macomb County, Michigan next month and would like to meet and make new friends. The difficulty is perhaps finding honest and real true, honest people. I am a retired military guy and look forward to finding a house to buy in Warren then finding and making friends. Hope we can keep this forum going and maybe we'll get enough people to meet. You can write me if you want too (edwardbm200302@yahoo.com)
