Hi, I'm a Grand Rapids native I moved when I was 15 permanently. I actually really miss it there. I love my hometown I don't think I'll ever find a place as nice as Grand Rapids. My mom has always thought being a Chicago native and that Grand Rapids is small. I Moreso always thought it was medium I consider vegas medium as well a small city would be Reno or Oshkosh or Ann Arbor. Metro Grand Rapids encompasses a lot. I was just wondering mostly others thought of this city. So opinion welcomed. What do you think?

Vegas is more than twice the size of Grand Rapids in city limits and nearly twice the size in metro area. So if Vegas is medium sized than yea, Grand Rapids is small. But I would say Grand Rapids is a mid sized city but on a regional level while Las Vegas is more like a mid sized major city. Two different categories.

I was going to say the same. There are a lot more categories than small, medium and large for cities. But I would say both Grand Rapids and Vegas are medium-sized in the grand scheme of things. Vegas may have some things that GR doesn't, but I think the quality of life in GR is better.

Yes Las Vegas is a tourist city. It's really not meant for a place to live full time same with Reno. Grand Rapids is more specialized in a residential environment.

I agree with the majority, a medium size city.

GRR is a medium sized city with a good selection of stores/restaurants/things to do that a larger city offers.

It's a medium sized city that wants to be treated like a large city but refuses to let go of the small city government mentality.
The city needs to realize it can't be treated and recognized as a true large city without actually biting the bullet and letting go of some of those small town charms.
Decisions, decisions...

It also needs to annex some suburbs.
