Do any of the supermarkets in Grand Rapids have a good buffet of hot dinner foods? Seafood, steamed vegetables, roast chicken, etc.. Something equivalent to the concept at Whole Foods Market? I'll be in Grand Rapids for several months but without a kitchen and just looking for simple, healthy grab and go food with a lot of variety that I could return to each evening.

The grocery chain here, Meijer, is pitiful. I've been here for 1.5 yrs now having moved from the #1 grocery chain in the US, Wegmans. Here at Meijer the only prepared foods I've seen is a case of very overcooked, very dried out looking fried chicken. That's it. Sad as I was used to salad bars, chinese buffet, Italian buffet, full cooked seafood buffet, sushi, veggie, Indian, etc, and sit down restaurants etc in my old store.
Good luck finding something. There are no Trader Joes or Whole Foods here either.

The "redneck buffet" at Sam's Club is awesome! ;-)

Some of the D&W's and Family Fare's. The newer ones are pretty nice.

Supermarkets like Family Fare have the typical limited "deli" sections with fried and rotisserie chicken, sushi, sides of varying palatability, small salad bars, deli meat and cheese, and attached Subways. I take it you are looking for something more expansive, but this is the situation with the chains. Since I hate to cook, I also would like to know if there is something else.
