Consumers Energy to build $20M office building in Grand Rapids | MLive.com

Another big bump for Grand Rapids surging Bridge St. Corridor. Consumers energy is opening a $20 million dollar "headquarters" on Alabama St. across from Rockford Constructions headquarters. By headquarters this is not a relocation, but looks to be an addition similar to the HQ2 thing Amazon is doing(albeit on a microscopic scale). 250 employees expected to join the west side neighborhood by 2020. In the next couple years I don't see how Bridge St won't be in a permanent state of congestion. I still hope this announcement helps usher in even more renovations and redevelopment for this once blighted neighborhood.
