Hi,

I have a friend that recently got accepted into Mercy's hospital to begin their rotations. I'm trying to help her look for housing around the area. How's the neighborhood around the hospital? What's a good recommendation for her to live in?

Thanks for all the input

By Mercy I'm assuming you're referring to the St. Mary's Hospital campus. The good news is St. Mary's sits on the line between downtown and several good neighborhoods. Depending on budget I'd direct your friend to focus for apartments in the Heritage Hill area which is immediately east and surrounding the Mercy facilities. If you come back with more specifics like budget, desire for beds/baths, and what she's looking for in the neighborhood she lives in, we can give you much more pointed feedback.

That said assuming she's looking to rent,if you tell her to focus her search in Heritage Hill, the neighborhoods immediately surrounding Wealthy St SE, and downtown/Heartside she will find walkability, and things to do, and feel pretty safe.

Yea. She'll be at Mercy Health Saint Mary's. I believe her Max budget is around $1500. She's looking for a 1 bdrm/1ba. She's thinking of getting a car but the biggest priority is safety as her schedule fluctuates between day shifts and night shifts.
