Can anyone tell me the big differences if any between East Grand Rapids High and the Northern, Central and Eastern high schools in the Forest Hills school district? From what I gather all four are good academically and I'm also wondering if all similar for sports which are important to my kids. Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

East Grand Rapids schools are pretty much a publicly funded private school experience- smaller schools, kids encouraged to get involved in a little bit of everything, the idea of U of Michigan as a 'safety school', etc. Forest Hills schools are more of a conventional high quality public school system you'd expect given the demographics of the area. I have cousins who have sent their kids to assorted schools in each of those areas and all have been happy with the educational experience their kids got there.
