Hello again everyone! My husband and I have decided to move to the GR metro area next year, and are now considering towns/neighborhoods. Many of the homes that we have really liked are in Rockford or Ada, and so we thought we'd throw the conversation open to see if anyone has experience in either of those two towns, especially raising a family!

--How might you guys describe the general "vibe" and culture of both towns? At first blush we've really liked both but haven't really experienced daily life there.

--Are both towns kid-friendly? Are there lots of families & a strong sense of community/neighborliness?

--What are some cultural activities in both places?

--What is the environment like for small businesses?

--Outdoor recreation? What do people like to do for fun?

That's what I can think of for now! Thank you all again for your help on the forum, it's been really useful to us!

I was born and raised in GR close to Ada (I graduated from. FH central) but either one will suit families perfectly. Ada is closer tonGR but GR metro is easy to get around so Outdoor recreation does not favor one or the other. Each have a lovely “downtown” area and great schools; I think Ada with the Forest Hills networks is tops I. GR though Rockford is not far behind.
