Yes, the group is called the "Sons of Italy". I'm not sure who the contact is, though.

Would it be humorous if I switched out "dutch" in that sentence with "African American?"

Then you change it from an ethnicity to a race, which is different. Or why not change it to Hindi, since that is a foreign language?

Insulting one's ethnicity isn't any better than insulting one's race. Plus, African American is an ethnicity. "Black" is a racial description.

How about we go back to talking about Italians in Grand Rapids and leave all derogatories toward any group out of the discussion.

Thank you much for all the information. I'll try to find out as soon as I get there; the Sons of Italy club seems really interesting. I think I'll get used to the Dutch, I believe they can be really nice people! :-)
