Hi everyone!
I'm kind of new here but I thought I could use this forum to ask this silly question.
Since I'm Italian and I'm relocating closer to GR (within MI), what are my chances to find some Italian and/or Italian-American folks in the GR?
Are there any places where they meet? Any Italian markets?
Just hope not to be ethnically isolated, that's all. :-))

Thank you much guys.

The former ambassador to Italy resides here and there is a huge Italian festival each year, (Festa Italiana) in August. This includes much wine and Bocce! I think there is a "club", but not sure how to locate it.

Not a huge Italian contingent, but there are some notable Italians like the Noto and Secchia families who sponsor a lot of events, and a Festa Italiana in downtown Grand Rapids every August.

(what allbusiness said lol).

Thank you so much guys.
Seems interesting...is this "Festa Italiana" going on every year?
I guess there are some Italians but not that many over in GR. I got from the net that there is a Sons of Italy branch, so hopefully they will be active.
If you have any more details you can add..... thanks again

I second the Russo's recommendation. Great deli and wine shop, among other things.

Noto's is really good for a restaurant, but I am not Italian so I don't know how authentic it is. I also liked the Italian restaurant near 28th and Cascade, but I can't remember the name of it????

Tuscan is a fantastic Italian place on 28th near Cascade. Maybe you're thinking of them? They were formerly called "Tuscan Express"... which sounded like a take-out place to me... but they've been "fine dining" since they opened as far as I know.

If you are truly interested in meeting people of your own heritage in Grand Rapids, your best bet is probably to become Dutch somehow.

These kinds of posts are uncalled for, and don't really help the OP.
