Try to get a Lacrosse team. LAX is the fastest growing team sport and it's highly established in the Midwest. In 10 years, we will no longer be talking about the "big 4" team sports, we'll probably be talking about the "big 6", the other two being soccer (yuck) and LAX.

I would rather see a NFL football team so I don't ever have to think about the lions again. I'm from Grand Rapids and I still don't think I'd want another NHL team in Grand Rapids or even to have the Wings out of the Joe. I'm a die hard wings fan for life, what would I do when its wings vs grand rapids "whatevers" ?

To think the Van Andel Arena could hold a pro sports team is laughable.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Wings in a new stadium (in Detroit of course).
The Joe is ok, but it's nothing fantastic.. and it's not like it's their Tiger Stadium or Wrigley Field.

The Sawchuk, Able, Lindsey, Howe years were all played at the Olympia. The Joe has that "urban renewal" feeling to it for me an island of cement surrounded by freeways.
