A realtor is sending me listings in the sub-$80K range. Judging from the GR city crime map, some of these listings look like they fall in areas where I would not want to live.

I'd be interested in hearing from forum users if any of these addresses are places where you would feel safe. I'm not ethnically biased, but I am a senior and would rather not have to go with concealed carry in my home neighborhood.

343 Fox St SW
1913 Berkley Ave SW
3136 Longstreet SW
2040 DeHoop, Wyoming
725 Fuller SE
1665 Burlingame SW Wyoming
1335 Lafayette Ave NE
907 Humbolt St SE
2219 Stafford SW
1163 Jefferson SE
528 Shamrock ST SE
505 Dickinson SE
1817 Palace Ave SW
914 Walker Ave NW
859 10th St NW
1157 Kalamazoo SE

Looking forward to your comments.

Thank you, Magellan.

That link pretty well cancels my hopes of living at a safe place in GR, in the price range I can afford.

I appreciate your assistance.

Under $80K. Therein lies the problem. From what I can see, anything in that price range is going to be in the high crime district.

If I were you i'd focus my search in the neighborhood you listed at

1913 Berkeley Ave SW

You should be able to find properties in that price range. It's the Godfrey-Lee Neghborhood of Wyoming. If you stay South of Chicago Dr, and west of Cleveland it's fairly quaint. My sister has lived in that neighborhood one street over on Federal Ave since 2002. It's working class and largely owner occupied. People tend to take decent care of their homes. I've never felt unsafe or witnessed any crime. Nor has any crime happened that's affected my sister. I would say you'd be more than fine in a couple of these neighborhoods. The one I mentioned in specific is definitely OK. If there has been crime it's isolated and skewing the statistics of a stable neighborhood.

That one appears to be sold/pending now.

I was saying to use the general neighborhood as a place to look. I think there are other properties for sale as well.
