Hi,
I am possibly moving to GR this summer. I have been looking at job openings...I'm an RN with about 7 years of experience...currently working in the ER but open to other critical care areas. Any hospitals I should avoid? Any that are better than others? I was expecting more openings on the job searches...how is the nursing job market up there? Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, I have already done the job search through the hospitals' website, both Spectrum and Metro. I was just curious for thoughts/opinions of people who are in the area and know which hospitals are better. I don't want to take a job and later find out it's at the area's most dreaded hospital or has a terrible reputation...
PS I live in Texas so I am only going on what I read on the internet at this point...I had been looking at Butterworth ER but there are few openings at Spectrum altogether...guess you're right about it being great, if no one's leaving...

My wife has been a nurse for 18 years and has lived here all her life. If you want shoot us a email or contact me through my website, (Grand Rapids Remodeling | Free Remodeling Estimates) I'm a contractor. She has worked in all the hospitals from the ER to burns to cardiac and would be glad to give you some insight to our hospitals.

MODS: I'm unsure as your policy on websites, I do not want to promote it only a vehicle for contact. Thanks, Paul B.

My wife works for Spectrum. Spectrum is the biggest and has the best reputation of the three hospitals (Spectrum, St. Mary's, Metro). Sounds like you're looking at the right place, starting with Butterworth ER. Just my opinion, but we like Butterworth over Blodgett if you end up having the choice.
