I think Armageddon will take place before Robots do all those things for us . The end of time will be as The Bible says but for those who got their sins forgiven and have made Christ their King, there is real joyful expectation ahead. Its going to be very exciting for many.

ok
but, for the sake of argument, lets say that doesnt happen and instead technology gets really advanced...
I'm not too worried about a dystopian society (In the year 2525...), as long as I get my ration of Soylent Green. But actually, I believe in the "Idea of Progress" whereas technology will improve the quality of life.
The only difference between our fate and that of the dinosaurs is, the disaster will be of our own doing.
It's nonetheless amazing we haven't been hit by an asteroid yet. Just a few close calls. As well as one coming towards us and should be here by 2029... if we make it that long.

We have already survived several meteor hits. One 10,000 years ago set up a tidal wave that crossed the Appalachian mountains, and more or less wiped out the clovus culture on the east coast of the United States.
The fact is, we are very very resilient. Even though most of us die out from time to time, there is always a few more to hang on and start again. There was a time where our numbers were down to less than one hundred ancestors, somewhere along the east coast of Africa.
Really, I feel that we are masters of our own fate. Sure, we may be hit by a significant sized meteor or comet. That doesn't mean it'll be the end of us. I think we'd survive even a meteor impact like the one that killed the dinosaurs. Now, if we had dual global catastrophes back to back, that might do it. But one thing, I doubt it.
Really, the only critters that could cause our extinction are ourselves, and possibly an outside source, alien contact of some kind.
But there is the chance that a large enough object could hit us, or something else we haven't thought about. Until we get off of one planet in our solar system, we run that risk. Even in the same solar system we know that the sun will run out of power one day. Even in our own galaxy, it looks as though we'll collide with another galaxy, which will probably destroy everything in both. Even if we can go to another galaxy, the Universe will one day expand to the point where everything will burn out and nothing will be left but dark carbon molecules that won't burn.
There will be an end, until we can make a leap from the physical realm, if thats even possible.

Pretty arrogant attitude I think. We've only been here for the blink of an eye and theres no reason to think we wont just die off for some reason just like 99% of the rest of the Earths critters have. Wouldn't take much at all. IMO chances are technology will be our undoing, if not directly then by the cost to our environment. As technology gets better so does the poisoning of our planet. The further from the natural world we get the less we remember that we need it to survive.

It is arrogant, but deserved I think. It took our species less than half a million years to conquer most of the planet, and we've left the planet, something no other dominant species on our planet has done. I think the human animal is pretty awesome.
