I am wondering what you all think will happen when whites become a minority as is predicted to occur in 2044 according to the latest census. Will all ethnic groups finally live in harmony since the mean whites are no longer keeping them down? I actually think things will be worse as I think most Hispanics and Asians do not think too highly of blacks and since they don't have white guilt it will be worse for blacks. It should be interesting?
Even if we use the modern definition of a 3rd world country (which is inaccurate), America wouldn't become a 3rd world country. The cultural norms and values won't change dramatically based on what ethnicity is a majority. And frankly, being the majority doesn't even matter. In terms of having power, you simply want to be closer to the top when it comes to wealth. How many other people there are total that have the same skin color or ethnic heritage as you won't matter if we're talking about who makes the decisions for others.

I agree my thread title is not correct. I guess what I meant was will the USA still be a great country as all ethnic groups who prefer their own culture battle it out to be top dog. Will there be unity amongst all groups?
In one word ....., No; the rest of the world will industrialize and homogenize, and become more like the United States.
Or Canada, or Great Britain, or Singapore, or even South Africa
We all want essentially the same things, and we're all pursuing them, and that trend coalesces more in the workplace than anywhere else. We might live in de facto segregated neighborhoods, but when we "clock in" to a place where the standards are uniform, and the process is structured so as to discourage "job politics", the only thing that matters is whether the rest of the people involved in the process can do the job as well as you can. And just as in military service, shared challenges and pressures tend to help to form a bond.
if xenophobia and provincialism are to be overcome, it will happen because if what goes on here.
W/out a doubt! Unless the people wake up & realize we have a corrupt government which takes 5 & gives 1. Our absolute dependency on a long since outdated fossil fuel conrolled by a morally bankrupt global cabal that drags us into needless wars to perpetuate itself is our biggest problem. JFK was killed in part because he was not going to pursue war in southeast asia preventing them from making billions. Their behind the fake terrorist attack aka 9/11, the subsequent BS patriot act, NSA snooping illegaly, etc.. Until we oust them we'll never live free, they will kill as many of us as they need to ensure that never happens.

It's my personal opinion that America hasn't been a great country for at least a decade. It's been an alright one that has enough power and influence to seem better than it is.
We're honestly a nation of halfwits. We're cowards. We rally behind knee jerk decisions and immediately dismiss unpopular ideas, not for their validity but because they are unpopular. We're a heavily medicated country and as a whole are less happy than other countries. We value money more than we value anything else.
I do not think a different race being the majority will change this. A change that will allow America to be truly great goes beyond race or religion. It's a mentality. We have to choose to change this and until we get powerful people advocating for this, we never will. Which is quite sad.

Enjoyed your writeup. I think we value money simply because the govt is squeezing the middle class so hard that most of us are litterally weeks away from living in the street. If one thing goes wrong, you're done, there's no backup plan for most of us, we're living paycheck to paycheck and those paychecks are getting smaller and smaller as taxes, inflation and just SO many bills are crushing most people, so money has to be "put first", it would be nice if we could put money 2nd, but it just doesn't seem like its a good idea.
So you are speaking for Asians now? I am Asian and I couldn't careless the color of your skin. My kids are the same.
I do not speak for Asians but many of my close friends here in Los Angeles are Asian and Hispanic and from the things they tell me about blacks I am pretty sure you are the exception. Here in Los Angeles you will not find Asians living amongst Blacks at all and Hispanics have been driving out blacks from their communities over the last 2 decades. So I speak from what I see on at ground level.

You don't need to have a majority to oppress the people around you. South Africa never had a WHite majority but it didn't stop them from implementing Apartheid.
