All this nonsense will stop when the squeeky wheel that is the PC crowd gets satisfied. When they do they will stop tweeting and people will stop piling on with them.
Anyone can get outraged at anything and they do but people get scared and start making changes when the pressure is turned up. In todays world that means public opinion expressed through multi electronic media.
What is scary is how easy the mob can be moved by a well placed sound bite, tweet or slogan.
I saw a really odd looking guy the other day in a parking lot and I turned to my wife to ask her if it was a man or woman. I then noticed the facial hair so it was a guy I think. I would say he was a modern day hippy and probably one of those idiots that occupied wall street or one who would lay down in traffic to bring attention to some cause. He made his way to a minivan and sure enough he had home made signs on it stating "Black lives matter". I wanted to challenge him and say "Don't all lives matter?"
Somehow I don't think black people would want this guy representing them and if a group of black youths were to approach this guy I think he would head in the opposite direction.
All this nonsense will stop when people get tired of it or they finally succeed at turning this country into a socialist state.
The white house is not named for a race of people, but it's color.
It is white, therefore, white house.
If it were a different color, the name would reflect that.
What the hell is so hard to understand about that?
Don't try to read something into it that doesn't exist.
This is just a basic straw man argument (slippery slope) because of the recent movement to stop using a racist symbol to represent people who were abused and exploited under the symbol. I will agree that the movement has gone too far; flying the symbol on the grounds of a state government (SC) or as part of an official symbol of the state (MS's state flag) is wrong. But all the places deciding to stop selling it is getting a little ridiculous. Still not as ridiculous as some of the straw man arguments out there.
There's a meme going around Facebook saying there is a "movement" to rename Cracker Barrel restaurants to White American Barrel because "Cracker" is racist.
Another one is pretending that black women are claiming the the bra color "nude" is racist.
As for the OP, no one is objecting to the nickname of a white building that has been painted white its entire existence. Exactly zero people. Especially since the current occupant has dark skin.

Bob.
I think most of us understand that quite well. But in the topsy turvy, PC world we live in now, how long before some wacko fringe group starts complaining about the name of the white house because they are all offended by it's name?
