This just in: a 23 year old Massachusetts man was plotting a terrorist strike for isis. His father who is a policeman amazingly turned his son in possibly saving dozens of lives.

Son of Boston Police Captain Arrested as Possible Terrorist

How does this Hate Happen? He first planned on attacking a police station then probably figured he would be gunned down pretty quick so he turned his attention to attacking a College.
He had bought a pressure cooker at Walmart to make a Boston Marathon type bomb. He had made molitof cocktails and had bought several guns and plenty of ammo to be used to attack a cafeteria at a local college.
He wanted to kill as many innocent people as possible in the name of isis and to get back at America for killing so many in the middle east. So you go after innocent people??

The guy has a bit of mental illness but to somehow make the leap from a smoldering anger to outright hatred to kill as many people as possible for a twisted ideal is crazy.
The anger continued when he was being evaluated by a nurse at the detention center he attacked her with a pen and stabbed her in the head.

Perhaps the authorities will find that this guy has been radicalized by isis online, who knows.

I'm happy that he was caught before he could kill.

How does this much hatred happen?

There are a number of reasons why this type of hate exist, and the biggest is the ACLU.
Their passive doctrine is what has caused many problems in this country.
Now, as for a cure, perhaps it is time to step back and see this problem for what it really is, and that is TREASON.

Instead of charging him, and similar young people involved in the same with domestic terrorism, charge them with treason, and once convicted, do as they did way back when, hanging, or firing squad.
This is one prime example where the ACLU overstepped their bounds.
All this passiveness is a direct result of that worthless organization.
To many liberal judges who are hell bent on destroying the fabric of this country.

If this kid does get convicted, he will more than likely get 2 years suspended, and that in itself is a crime.
It is the times we live in.

Bob.

"Charge him and others like him with TREASON" since that is what it is. That is a good point Bob but imagine the backlash if someone, even if that someone was plotting to kill innocent people in the name of a terrorist group was hung or faced a firing squad.
It simply wouldn't be allowed. The PC liberals would shout that it is inhumane and the poor misunderstood terrorist wanna be had a hard life that led him to his evil plot.

The only thing that would concern me about trying and hanging a would be terrorist is the ammunition it would give others like him to kill even more innocent folks.

This young mans father is a Boston Police Captain which means that the guy when he was growing up had a pretty good life and never wanted for anything. Did that help turn him into a cry baby punk? Who knows.

What I do know is that we are seeing more of these would be terrorists that want to kill innocent people in the name of isis, islam and their muslim faith. I don't know Obama keeps telling us that islam is a religion of peace when it is obviously not.

We need to set a precedent that any person who takes up arms against America will be tried for treason and put to death. Our Gov. needs to step up to protect its people from these home grown jihadists.

Few have pride in anything anymore....certainly, not in their country....and it's a shame.

Just like a song says, "If you don't believe in something, you'll fall for anything"...and that's what's happening nowadays.

Default How does this Hate Happen?

Other reports on this incident say that the guy has a "long history of mental problems."

How do we know it was hate? Does one need to hate those on the opposing side in order to kill them? Did the pilots over the highway of death hate those they were laying down fire power on?

How do we know it was hate? Are we just assuming that because they want to kill so many that it must be hate?

I don't know what the highway of death is but it sounds like soldiers were involved and innocent people were killed but if it was in a war zone that is certainly different than planning an attack on a college.

Maybe his anger isn't hate driven but he certainly has rage in stabbing the nurse in the head with a pen.

I would say he is enraged he was caught before he could kill.

It has to be a deep hatred for non muslim people. He did say he was going to kill everyone unless they were muslim.
He was planning his deadly rampage. It's not like he got angry and had an outburst he was planning.

If it isn't hate that kept him going than what is it? Mental illness? Was he brainwashed by isis online?

I call it hate when someone plans to kill innocent people the way he was going to do it. I call it revenge when someone goes after a specific target.

He is certainly sick seeing the Boston Marathon bombers as heroes.

I say regardless of his state of mind try him for treason and being a homegrown terrorist and if found guilty put him before a firing squad.

The kid is obviously a nutcase -- at age 23, he ought to be either in graduate / professional school or working at a real, productive job -- and the US Constitution (Article III, Section3) specifically defines treason as "giving aid and comfort to an enemy in time of war", so there go the plans for a necktie party.

But he's a living, and disgraceful symbol. of the end product of the ungrounded Political Correctness which has infested both our educational system, and our daily life.

Quote (ABC News via Yahoo):

Prior to allegedly becoming an ISIS sympathizer, Ciccolo was photographed attending an anti-nuclear "peace walk" in 2012.
Jun Yasuda, a Buddhist who walked with Ciccolo in July 2012, told ABC News Ciccolo appeared to be “concerned about peace… and understood about non-violent protest.”
“We walked together after Fukushima, and he realized that he had an open mind and that people were wonderful,” Yasuda said.

A truly open mind would follow Voltaire's assertion that "I may disagree with what you say, but will defend your right to say it". That is what the ACLU should practice, (and at one time, it was a lot closer to it), but that principle has long since been discarded.

EndQuote

There are a lot more like him out there among the squirrels, and they run the entire range from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to Dylann Roof. If we surrender more of our own options to Big Brother in the name of supposed safety, we will have destroyed what separates us from the world's also-rans,

The phrase "highway of death", FWIW, is often used to describe the occasion upon which the Coalition forged in Operation Desert Storm had much of the Iraqi Army bottled up on an open highway; a situation which would have made finishing the job as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. Our commanders decided they didn't have the stomach -- and had enough of a conscience -- not to revert to such butchery.

But I sometimes wonder if we can hold on to such ideals.
