Really? I can see where all of the Trump supporters are coming from now.
Remember it wasn't minorities who created institutionalized racism for centuries and now that the playing field has turned against whites for half a century they are complaining yet minorities still have double the Unemployment rates of whites!

Put down your Internet & talk radio if you really think Whites in America are losing their jobs to minorities because of Affirmative Action.

Minorities get sick and tired of all the racial talk when they become the scapegoats for politicians and hype up the issue as if there a nefarious agenda amongst them to fundamentally change America and one particular party is now pushing this agenda.
The bolded: That is one big thing. Being scapegoated is a major issue. Being used as a scapegoat is scary. I think about another politician who used the scapegoating of minorities to gain power. Adolf Hitler, and we know how that ended up.

Interesting observation.

Sick of talking about it because there's no action or change.

As for affirmative action... There has never been a reverse discrimination case where a top white male candidates has been denied a position in school or employment. The situation invariably involves a mediocre white candidates who believes they are entitled despite their basic mediocrity.
I met a man who's job it was to select small businesses that service the local military bases. For example, when a building on base needed some electrical work, they had a list of "pre-approved" electrical contractors, with all the administrative stuff taken care of (financials, tax stuff, background check, etc...)

Long story short, racial minorities got a plus, women got a separate plus and handicapped go a separate plus, so what many white men were doing was setting up fake companies that were "owned" by handicapped brown women (speaking very loosely here, you get the idea) so that they would get the preferential treatment.

Your notion that there is no such thing as discrimination against white people ("reverse racism" is the left's language, and I refuse to use it) is false in this type of situation, but it's also false in many others, as anecdotally there are many examples of minorities being given jobs they are not qualified to do, so other's job descriptions are expanded to take up the slack. And there is nothing more offensive than having an unqualified person be your boss, and only because of their race.

Which then takes people that were previously not racist, and subjects them to an unjust and intolerable situation that has the tendency to create racism where not used to exist. In short, whatever short-term and measurable gains there are to be had by affirmative action, there is also the intangible cost to consider. Affirmative Action is racist, and in response to it, it creates new racists. Add a dash of Trayvon Martin and a few cups of Michael Brown and in a few years you inevitably get a class of predominately (but not completely) white people that no longer CARE about all of those socially-mandated and politically correct cultural values. We don't care if black lives matter or they don't. There are more important things to consider. Also, we say things out loud now, that we never used to, such as the FBI crime statistics on murder rates. Who are committing the homicides (black people) and who are the victims (black people), so if "black lives matter" white people reasonably conclude that black people should probably do something about THEIR people?

See that subtle difference there? It used to be "us", and we held hands and sang "we are the world" and "we shall overcome" and also "kum bah ya", but now due to racist affirmative action programs (as well as a determined unwillingness for blacks as a political demographic to take responsibility for their own self-created problems) white people no longer care what "your" problems, and complaints are. We're not "us" anymore. Obama has succeeded in dividing us along racial lines, and now it's on. Basically the message is one of distant sympathy. We're really sorry you folks have those problems, and we hope someday that you'll be able to find solutions to your problems. So, while you're all looking under rocks and behind bushes for secret, imagined racists, with discriminatory attitudes hard-wired to our DNA, you might want to take a look at yourselves as a demographic group, and realize how decades of your failed social welfare policies have actually caused the very problems you claim to be so concerned about. It's not racism, it's apathy. There's a difference, and we don't care to hear your self-righteous moralizing. You have problem? Go fix it.

I believe in equal opportunity, no matter what your colour of skin is. It is SO ridiculous making any kind of difference a person's skin is. People, it is ONLY skin! We are of the same flesh, muscle, bone, tendon and organs underneath a very thin layer of skin.

People who qualify for a job, sport or organization, etc, should be chosen ONLY by their ability to fill a position... nothing more, nothing less.

Now maybe some races tend to do better in certain things, but that shouldn't matter either. Ability is what matters.
Let's take for instance, basketball and football. I imagine (don't know for sure) that people with darker skin exceed in these professional sports but that is because of their size and strength I think. Yes, some white people excel in these two sports, but the majority are darker. To yell discrimination because the teams in professional sports aren't a mixture of minorities and whites would be simply ridiculous IMO.

Orientals are usually slight of nature, but why don't we see them on football fields or basketball courts often? Because they usually don't have the athletic abilities (usually) that other races do. There is NO discrimination in choosing, it just makes more sense to have the qualifications and ability.

I say to drop the minority card into the garbage and focus on the qualifications and ability of the position to be filled.

Speaking of, I find it hilariously hypocritical of Oprah Winfrey to complain about racism.

Where on this earth could a black woman, such as her, become a billionaire?

Do you know what demographic helped her become the wealthiest black woman on the planet?

So called, privileged white people.

People will always be discriminatory in some fashion, whether it be race, class, dress, religion, etc. It's a part of the human condition.

Black people, particularly in the U.S. have a quality of life and opportunities to succeed not available anywhere else in the world.

I disagreed with the insane claim that affirmative action does not discriminate against white people. Obviously, it does in the aggregate and when the choice is made on the basis of race. The fact that some white women benefit personally from affirmative action is entirely consistent with the fact that affirmative action, taken as a whole, discriminates against white people. It discriminates against whites and in favor of other races, and it also discriminates against men and in favor of women -- these things are so basic that it's amazing someone would argue otherwise.

As for your thing about white women, it's a bogus claim. It's based on some statement from the Department of Labor that is totally worthless for a number of reasons including the following:

(1) It is limited to employment and has nothing to say about (a) education -- where white women get NO affirmative action, and blacks get enormous affirmative action, or (b) contracting or (c) anything else;

(2) It is not done on a per capita basis;

(3) It is based on how many women are above what their pay grade would be in the absence of AA, but it says nothing about how much of a difference (i.e., how much they've been raised up) for women in various racial categories.

You personally may not feel particularly privileged but white males as a group are.
