That’s exactly it. Americans are too fat – figuratively and literally – to riot. But we’ll see riots from behind the keyboard.

They swore an oath to the Constitution, which, ahem, trumps the President.

The news media would like to see riots, and perhaps a few special-interest groups. As long a people can cash their gov. checks, and get a good cell phone signal, I doubt nothing too widespread happens, though.

Which Commander in Chief? The one in power or the one who is newly elected? The point being that the current CIC can direct military forces against the citizens, if necessary in order to remain in power.

BTW Didn't you see the Republicans storm the hearing today, they prevented the DoD representative from speaking about the Ukraine situation? They barged into a classified SCIF with cell phones, which would normally get you fired, if not worse. They wanted an open hearing, notwithstanding all of the Benghazi hearings being conducted in private. No one took any action against this mob, which should embolden them even more. I feel even more confident than ever that the Republic is on its last legs. The Democrats are too weak and feeble to counter these lawless Republicans. Welcome to Trumpistan.......birth control is being pulled from the shelves as we speak (only halfway kidding)......

The flip side is that the military (aside from the rhetoric about how much of our money he has spent on "stuff" for the troops) really is tired of having a screwball at the helm, having to implement some really dumb military decisions ( I give you handing over Turkey, the Kurds. and Syria (not to mention, literally, our bases) to Russia, for example after our blood was spilled to protect America from ISIS) , and having to listen to some of America's finest military people be degraded, is so pizzed at him that they will quickly seize control, squash any riots, and move to quickly install the duly elected government.

Sadly, the people who can least afford to be punished will, indeed, be punished for following a moron who appealed to the weakest and most vulnerable members of our society.

Could happen. Won't last long.

"The Dems will have put up with four years of everything they don't believe in and a nutty and unlikable president. If they find out they will have to put with with another four years, who knows what they will do?

And the Repubs are so intent on strict capitalism with the rich getting richer while the poor get poorer, taking away the safety net, and they seem to enjoy doing it, that if they lose, there's going to be heads rolling too."

This attitude is is one of the chief reasons for the divide in this country.

You are aware that many of Trump's policies were supported by the Democrats before he was elected, aren't you? The Wall being one of them.

As far as the safety net, I would rather have a president who is intent on bringing jobs back to the US then one who jus hands out food stamps. While I may be in the minority, I would rather have the ability to earn my keep than be dependent on the government for my sustenance.

I personally do not see mindless riots, looting, etc. More along the lines of republican MAGA knuckle dragging hordes shooting the miniscule number of democrats who are trying to uphold the lawful elected results. Race riots are usually against disputed police actions these days. The unions are dead, for the most part. The left is pretty much dead, IMHO.

They still follow the chain of command and follow orders.
Right, but our Constitution requires citizens to step up and take action if they truly believe there is a threat to the nations security, even if that means a domestic threat! This is why we were given the power to remove a govt if it becomes necessary.

Thats why I said above, if they truly believe these things...and do nothing, they are no better than the tyrant/dictator.
