Yes, people act like this is Cuba or North Korea.

THIS IS AMERICA...we have LOTS of resources...we can make millions of masks a day.

3M is producing 1 million a day.

Trump haters can whine all they want but he's absolutely right when he says we have the most and best resources and doctors in the world.

Would you please quit injecting your political poison into this thread and just answer the original question?

What I said wasn't political. It was factual.

In any case I will do whatever I want on here, thanks.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/coronaviru...ry?id=69859267

So IF the final U.S. death toll from COVID-19 turns out to be about 150,000 (or less), if you figure in the despair of those who lost their jobs or businesses and might not recover, the possible violence due to shortages, the increased domestic abuse resulting from people being forced to stay home to some extent, medical personnel losing their lives because of caring for the sick, the stress and worry about loved ones, and the trillions of dollars that taxpayers will end up paying -- and also knowing that the usual number of deaths annually in the U.S. is about 3,000,000 -- do you think the extreme measures taken to prevent possibly hundreds of thousands more deaths will have been worth it?

P.S. As I personally have not formed an opinion on this question yet, I will not be debating anyone who responds, but I will most definitely be reading any responses that this post receives, so thanks in advance.
It is worth it to keep the death toll from being 500,000 instead of 100,000. Absolutely.

Where are they? Where are the masks and other protective gear doctors/nurses say they can't get, the respirators our hospitals are desperately trying to get (CUOMO recently responded to FEMA's allocation to NY of 400 respirators: "What am I going to do with 400 respirators, when I need 30,000?"), and the masks the public needs for self-protection? Why is the US rated 26th in quality of health care globally, below Costa Rica?

Of all the reasons to not have universal health care this has got to be the very worst.

I challenge anyone to find a modern nation (not a third world nation) other than the US that does not have universal health care. Is this what "American exceptionalism" is about? The right to die because you aren't rich an you aren't poor enough to get on Medicaid and so you fall between the cracks because you can't afford your medication?

Next time you go to a Trump rally, say hello for me to that big pile of stupid garbage who contradicts himself daily. That man is just shameless.

They're here. Look how quickly we developed the 5 minute test. This is what I mean when I say "CHILL, this is America."

I don't give a rat's *** about what some liberal article you cite, us being below Costa Rica in global health care. That's a joke. Would you rather have brain surgery by a doctor that makes $2MM a year here or some government doctor there? Yeah, I thought so. Why do celebrities come here from Europe for complex surgeries?

Ooooooo Bernie Sanders talking points! Healthcare isn't a right, ACCESS to it is.

Ever hear of this thing called health insurance? $12 hourly employees at my company are offered the exact same Rolls-Royce health insurance plan the execs that make millions are. And it's very inexpensive. And yes, my employer subsidizes a lot of it. That's how America works. And no, my compensation wouldn't go up one penny if I declined insurance other than the $230 bill a month I wouldn't be paying.

Bernie is done, gone forever. Get over it. The idea of socialism in the United States has been rightfully and fairly crushed. We spoke. We don't want it.

I repeat my question. Name another first world country besides the US without universal health insurance.

Can't give a real answer can you?

The fifth largest nation in the world by GDP doesn't have it. They are trying but as of now they have fewer people on government healthcare than the US (only 4 million people as of 2019). As it stands, the US has over 118 million people on government healthcare (medicare or medicaid), which is more people than many countries have in their entire population.

I won't name the country because you're free to google it, and I suspect you'll put a xenophobic spin on it due to your comment about "first world" countries (again, it's only four lower than the US in GDP...)

But it's not as dire in the US as the media would leave you to believe.
