It happens I am not in a bad position financially. However my mortgage, property taxes and insurance come out to roughly $2500 a month. Even when my mortgage is paid off in October it's $1500 a month. That's an awful lot of lawns, cleared out garages and basements. Even assuming those gigs don't violate some police officer's view of social distancing.

This is a massive self-inflicted wound.

Without the internet I would find it hard to live the lifestyle I've now got set up, living remotely from banks and other business interests.

We would obviously do a lot more on the phone. But, and this is a big but, many companies are not now set up to deal efficiently by telephone, having defaulted to the internet for most, if not all, their interactions with the public. They don't have banks of people answering the phone anymore.

Certainly I could not get my groceries delivered as I do now because that's an internet only service. So if I couldn't go out to get groceries - as the WH is now advising us not to do - we'd have a real problem. Drugstore deliveries? Don't make me laugh. So how would you get your prescriptions?

I just made two masks to wear outdoors. Where did I get the pattern? Online.

Well, people had those same bills decades ago too!

Some riots for sure. People would get restless at home especially the kids. I think adults would have been more outdoorsy without internet, so i can see many adults not staying home. Just having the internet relieves some stress.

I was in my 60s when we got our first computer.

I have read many books and newspapers before that and visited 18 countries.

I was in my 80s when I got my first cell phone.

It was never a problem.

I would tend to agree, but unfortunately my current setup doesn’t leave much room for anything else. There’s not much I can actually do to change it either.
