We implemented these crazy draconian measures for a 98% survival rate virus. Endangering the livelihood of billions across the globe in the process.

But the virus is extremely contagious and so people become positive with minimal exposure, even through AC systems now they have discovered. So that 2% death rate has added up to over 60,000 deaths in US so far.

Well that's interesting.

In nearly half a century of living in the NY (you said you were in NY) metro area, I never knew 15 people who got the flu in one season. That's huge.

This isn't an overreaction.

A couple months can seem like a very long time. It can be the difference in self sufficiency and dependence.

And no this virus is not deadlier than anything we have ever seen. And seriously, 100 million. I think that estimate has been disproven, don't you.
Kids have gotten pretty spoiled. They spend a freaking fortune on prom, and have turned it into a rite of passage. It's just a dance. Their life will not be ruined if they have to skip it. It's the same with graduation, which is more nuisance than anything else. I only went because they told me it was required. I told the college to mail my diploma and didn't bother to go to graduation.

The same thing holds true for Disneyland. It seems like every kid in the world thinks they have to go to Disneyland. No, they don't. Their life will not be ruined.

I'm not concerned with people who have an unemployment claim. With the $600 kicker, most of them are hauling down more than when they were working. It's the self-employed that are getting the shaft.

It's amazing how blithely you would kill 152 million people.

Well what you "think" proves nothing. Give a link that DOES prove it. And no one says that any of this is easy, but it could be a lot harder if we reopen everything and have a second surge of the virus. IMO we as a society should be giving much more help to those who have lost their livelihoods instead of giving so much to rich corporations who have connections and giving the stimulus to those who have lost nothing.

We are in fact living in different times. And so many people that complain they can’t go out were just on their phones anyways.

You can still walk around. You can still get food. Whether you’re into video games, movies, or reading, you can do all of that. Heck you can still socialize with FaceTime and video apps. You can see what everyone is doing on Facebook. You wouldn’t be able to do these things in the past.

And all was asked was that you stay home and chill. You can cook. You can eat. You can sing or whistle. Gyms even offer work ins. So you don’t even have to go to the gym..

This is not forever. It’s temporary and short in the big scheme of things. Sometimes in life you can’t have it all. And in order to slow the spread, you just have to sacrifice a little. The way people complain is like they haven’t seen the outside world in years. It hasn’t been that long.

Do we really have to have everything our way? This is a virus that is more deadly than anything we’ve ever seen and if we hadn’t social distanced then maybe we would have 100 million deaths by now. My question is why do people think they are so special that they need to have everything at all times?
You seem very young with little at stake. Have you lost your job or business? This matters.

Your figures on lethality are wrong. Considering how many have contracted it, less than one percent have died, and most were in very bad shape to begin with. America has had enough of the government hype.

May 1.

Your numbers are wrong and melodramatic. Shameful, but not surprising.

7.6 billion people, Bubba. Whatever arithmetic you like, that's still going to be a whole lot of corpses.

It’s alarming how easily you can make up numbers.

It’s typical fearmongering, luckily he’s not a governor as most of them are opening phase 1 this week or the next.
