… You can't 1/4 open a restaurant or gym or movie theater. You open or you don't.
More false choices. You can open up now restaurants but you can only have 1/4 people. IOW its not even worth your while opening but since we haven't ordered you to close we don't have to help you …
I read yesterday that my city of Boulder is shutting down roads near the Pearl Street Mall to automobiles so that the restaurants that line the cross-streets can set up more outdoor seating, I guess to try to hit that 3/4's capacity (of the kitchen and waitstaff) that might make it feasible to open. Along with a reduced menu, I'd bet (less food waste).
Sounds like a pretty good thinking-out-of-the-box solution, restaurant owners working with the city to try to find a solution. I personally can't wait to go and sit down and eat and drink at a restaurant again, especially on a beautiful Colorado late afternoon/evening, with mile-high sun, low humidity, nice breeze.
This disease is not understood and answers become fluid. Fauci is an invaluable source of scientific information.
This coming from a Republican.
This is basically what I was going to say.
We have gone from knowing nothing about this particular virus to learning more and more as each week passes. For example, in just this past week we have learned more about the related syndrome affecting children and that there are far more asymptomatic cases than we expected. That's how science works -- an always evolving understanding of phenomenon.
If Fauci was saying the exact same thing in May that he was in February, I wouldn't respect him as a scientist.
The conspiracy theory idea is he and Gates will profit from the vaccine.
