All that land is either federal, as in National Park and BLM/USFS or open range ranches. As far as water, ranchers in the Western Front range area have priority over water rights going back at least a century.

I believe those people living near the Great Lakes would challenge the siphoning of their water. And, don't even try that with the Columbia River; it is protected by treaties with Canada where it originates.
And so are the Great Lakes, which also happen to have their origin in Canada.

And this whole "simply" part. Would be as easy as flipping on a light switch, huh? And then increasing the size of our government exponentially to take on the management of such a project. That'd be a component of this madness as well. WTF?

only cuba should be invaded and annexed militarily. Russia annexed crimea. WHy can't we annex cuba?

The rest of central america needs to americanized first through a large scale psyop and english replacing the language of the conquistadors.

That is not always the case.

Illinois state workers only contribute 21% of their pension costs:

https://www.illinoispolicy.org/repor...pension-costs/

Government workers’ share, as a percentage of total contributions, has continued to decline when compared to taxpayers’ contributions. In 1998, government workers paid for 47 percent of the state’s total pension contribution; today, they only pay 21 percent. By 2045, government workers will be expected to pay only 17 percent of total pension contributions.

And it's not just Americans who have embraced the 1-2 child family, but untold number of countries in the world as well, including Mexico. With Mexico facing a huge aging population, they'll need the immigrants from Central America for the low-level jobs, like caregiving.

I see the day when low fertility countries are going to battle with other countries for more immigrants. One country says: we'll buy you a new car if you come to our country. And another: free rent the first year you live here. And another: free day care.

Costa Rica and Panama are doing quite well, perhaps they could use some immigrants.

A nice big wall was going to solve this, but that wall won't be built and this will continue to be an issue.

Every man, woman, and child in Central America should make their way to America if we're dumb enough to think not building any barriers is going to stop them.

China has a massive wall to keep North Koreans out, and that's what America should've done.

That is not happening obviously. I agree that a wall would be the best choice. But a partially completed wall is like no wall at all.

I think the best solution now is turn Central America into a enterprise zone. Give encentives for companies to move their manufacturing from China to Central America. Low cost loans backed by the US government to do this. Over time we would be less dependent on Chinese made goods and give Central Americans a reason to stay in their country and work in these factories and not try to come up here.

Nonsense. CRIMINAL prosecution of the employers and it's still needed.
If/when they know they CAN'T expect to work most of the impetus to come disappears.

I'd support it provided that 100% of the funding comes from the recipient country. Otherwise it's just a massive transfer of wealth.

As American as 'apple pie'& 'baseball'!

Both came from the UK no? :-D
