Advertisements

Because of the way the current political leadership (and corporate leaders) protect themselves and are the gatekeepers through policy (or funding) here are a few that come to mind.

Ban political advertising and elections go to blockchain based technology.

Establish a 60 day pre-election equal time access to (all candidates) PBS, NPR and reorient election to listening to what candidates would do and then through technology (blockchain enabled for transparency in matching the candidates track record of what they campaigned on and how they voted) When they deviate they cannot run for future office.

Ban Lobbying, Corporations are not people.

All revenues generated from books and speaking engagements after holding national political office go directly to the US Treasury to help pay down National Debt.

Offset the self enrichment loss above by raising salary of congress and senate 4x and the president 10x. It would be much less expensive the financial legislative corruption rape the taxpayer is getting on a regular basis through crony capitalism.

Institute National service program to unify general populace. A sort of hybrid of the military with Civilian Conservation Corp. This would also enable youth to better gauge what career track to pursue in college.
24 months of service in one of four tracks:
Social Services / Education
Medicine Science Tech
Environmental (Trades/ Disaster Training etc.)
Military (National Guard/Reserve)

After this universal service, the government will fund fifty percent of any future college education with it forgivable after those obtaining the degree work 10/20 years in the area of study. For example $100 k education govt funds 50K. If you obtain degree and work in area of study for 10 years you get $25k forgiven / refunded and 20 years the remainder of loan forgiven.

Those who serve in military decide when to go to war. Not resource speculators and politicians.

Social Program reform
Limited benefits for those who are unemployed. No benefits for whelping. No more building easily manipulable government dependent voting blocs. The elderly and disabled would be covered of course but no incentives for able bodied people to defraud.

Immigration reform
Politicians supporting illegal immigration must have the illegals live in their district and in their neighborhood and attend the same school districts as their children / grandchildren. The illegals get shipped there for residency and must wear a tracking device to keep them within the politicians district. Think "Invisible Fence" but for humans.

Institute reciprocal immigration laws. Any illegal immigrant is treated with their home country's illegal immigrant laws.

Business realm:
Ban socialization of risk - privatization of reward.
In order for government to bail out a corporation all shares of said corporation are converted to common shares only. And the prorate share of the government (taxpayer bailout) gets distributed into a Individual Taxpaying citizen Account via an equal share of the corporation. This becomes known as the "Citizen DShare" program. No preferred or officer rewarded shares to be given once a corporation receives Taxpayer bailout.

Create a parallel non advertising based Internet which functions as follows. Users require a license which is earned after they pass a rules of engagement (equivalent to rules of the road for drivers license). The user pays an annual fee like a drivers license say $50 a year. Once they violate rules of engagement for internet highway they are fined and second violation they are banned from its use.

Take the profit out of conflict and controversy. Much of the amplified volume of white noise / social tension is being used on and against the population for the elites gain. In an ideal system the amplifiers would be exposed. Protect Whistleblowers.

Repeal 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act which allowed Pharma be given blanket immunity from liability for any injury caused by vaccines.

Reinvigorate and strengthen truth in advertising laws.

Finance/Taxes:
Abolish income tax - establish National Sales Tax for everything but essentials (most food, basic hygiene products, etc).

Enable State Banks (North Dakota is only state). Let States fund their own infrastructure capital improvements with State bank. This would help mitigate Wall Street / International banks.

Establish a multi resource and metal alloy basket of backed currency remove petrodollar.

Not likely to happen because of entrenched interests, but it would be a good start.

I'd start with massive education reform so a High School diploma means you have basic 21st century job skills. The ability to write a coherent and grammatically correct paragraph. Reading comprehension at grade level. Basic math skills. American business English. Financial literacy. Totally ditch competitive sports. Make school "hard" like it is in the rest of the first world. Hold parents accountable with economic incentives and economic penalties. If you're behind your grade level, school becomes 50 week per year, 40 hours per week until you're caught up. If you're disruptive, you get moved to the disruptive kid school completely segregated from everyone else. Those economic penalties kick in for your parents while you're there. Beyond that, I'd adopt something like the German model where only the top-5% to 10% attend a university and it's free. Everyone else has continuing training focused on job skills and that's lifetime training where employers are expected to carve out time for their employees to continue training.
