I loved it when they still had the Polish dog. Now my Costco also took away the onions and relish.
Agree them taking away the Onions and Relish almost kills the deal.
When I went the other day I remember that I had chopped onions at home.
I think they got rid the onions and Relish because of Covid.

My wife and I both love it, but rarely are there at lunchtime or needing a big snack. We most often shop there after dinner. It's a great hot dog, and an amazing price, definitely a loss leader. Have you noticed the machine with bottles of cold water at the exit for $0.25? That costs you a dollar or more at most stores as mush as $4 at attractions.
I haven't shopped at Costco in awhile but when my kids were younger and I took them shopping there with me, they each got one of those $1.50 hot dog specials every time. They actually looked forward to our monthly Costco trip because of those hot dogs.
I will always have a fond place in my heart for the Costco Hot Dog special.
The Costco hotdog and soda combo just hits the spot for me. I also like a slice of their pizza from time to time (although I do pat it down with a few napkins to soak up some of the fat).
I'm not a hot dog person, so I've never gotten in on it. Unless the soda includes more specialty drinks (like shakes or specially brewed teas), then I'd rather save the $1.50 to use towards something else. It's affordable, but the value ain't there for me.
On a related note, the photo illustrates my frustration in where they removed the deluxe option for pizzas! Word is, they couldn't figure out how to keep it less than $10 per pie, so they axed it. Beef brisket sandwich got canned few years back, along with the hot turkey provolone sandwich. I don't do Costco cafe anymore. Kinda nice since as mentioned by others, sometimes the lines are crazy long. The $10 I could spend on food there can easily go towards better food that are often near any typical Costco.
Apparently, hotdog connoisseurs are not regular participants in Great Debates, as we mods have had to delete numerous one-liners in this thread. It seems this "debate" has run its course. Have a good evening, everyone, and may your hotdogs never lack for condiments.
