With this historic turn of events, the first African American president, do you expect a rise in racial mixing? Will it ever come to the point where we will become one mixed race?

There is only ONE RACE. LOOK IT UP!!!

ONE.

By definition, there is one race. Ethnicity is a different matter. There is only one race. One.

Look- there is only a 3% difference between you and I or I and anyone............the color of my skin, my hair and my eyes.........the rest is the same. One race.

I agree that there is only one race and that is the human race. However, not everyone can see it like you and I.
I was refering to the racial divide in the U.S. mostly among Caucasian and Black but other minorities as well.

Then this would be the time they start. These are facts. We didn't make them up. One race. ONE.

If these facts are true, and you know they are, why play to the lowest common denominator?

The color differences come from the amount of sunlight exposure. Period.

Gee, your username says it all. Calm down. But to answer the OP, I really doubt having a mixed...err, ethnicity president will make much difference in who we date or marry or otherwise socialize with. I love the idea of all the different ethnic groups blended smoothly into a caramel/asiatic final product.

In schools now, most children who are "mixed" are proud of it. It has completely reversed from when I was in school (a while back). I'm surprised that nobody discusses our new President being as Caucasian as he is African-American. Actually, he's an English, Irish, French, Dutch, German, African-American. Mixed is much easier, and most people already are.

To answer your question, I would think not.

Just becasue a black is elected president does not mean it signals a rise in inter racial unions. People are people and will fall in love with whomever they choose. The fact more inter racial couples are common place is a sign that meaningless taboos, sterotypes & prejudices are ending- finally.

Yeah, there's more racial mixing in The United States than in the past and it's a good thing. Less chance of genetic diseases being passed on for one.

My brother married a Chinese woman, they have two kids. I think the kids look Chinese, a Chinese buddy of mine thinks they look Irish. Ya gotta love America.
