It must be where you live. I certainly don't see any of that where I am. Come to think about it, where I lived before two states away, I didn't see it there either.
Are you in California? It seems like it would have to be an area where people are obsessed with appearance and looks. Maybe there are other areas like that too.
People where I live are so obsessed with fitness and looking good that they don't just belong to one gym. They belong to a whole bunch of gyms. And still go outside and do boot camps and things like that.
Is it just me or does anyone find Sudokos and Crosswords completely pointless and boring. Never understood why people enjoy them, why not resolve a real world puzzle like earning more money, fixing something, get a real understanding you find difficult.

I've never done Sudoku, but I do enjoy crosswords. It's not pointless. It works the brain. You focus, think, explore possibilities.
Get a couple of short lengths of rope and learn how to tie different knots. YouTube is a good place for instructional videos.
Good for your brain as well as keeping your fingers nimble.
I still read a bunch, but not as much as I used to.
A couple of things I do to try to keep my brain sharp.. I take the kids to escape rooms and we play those quite often. I find those a decent way to keep you thinking. I also do a bunch of ancestry work and believe it or not.. That is quite taxing, trying to keep all the people and names and dates straight.
