'The least contented people often have conflicted value systems, where a number of things are prized - wealth, power, social status, belonging to proper groups, etc.. The fully actualized person does not need to be a member of any group, and may in fact avoid such memberships. They may act almost insanely independently, and ignore social convention. They may so effectively disappear that they aren't counted in surveys of who is contented and who isn't. They may be seen by others as just that old kook who always wears a tattered old hat.

That's interesting. Very often, I would be approached by a very friendly person, who turned out to be a member of some proselytizing Christian sect, whose only interest in me was to satisfy his own command from his god to spread the good news. They can be depended upon for hospitality, even taking you in for the night. Also, in countries that are not predominnatly Christian, the Christians are more likely to know some English, often having been educated in Christian schools by missionary teachers.
So, while it superfically appears that Christians are more "friendly" than others, they often turn out to have an ulterior motive in gregariousness. I even find this to be true in the USA, especially in the south. A seemingly friendly and hospitable new acquaintance very quickly gets around to inviting me to their church, or ask me if I've been saved.
The command to universally proselytize seems to be unique to the Christian faith, and is often conspicuous, under a guise of hospitality and friendliness.
You've got some real serious, deep-seated hatred here, don't you?

If you re-read the post in this thread one point becomes very clear.........humans are happiest when they have a good sense of community and family.
The people who often have the least but have both community & family will not seem to notice that they are considered "poor" since the needs of their soul is filled to the brim from contact with other people close by. Now this assumes that their other basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and a belief system are taken care of at least at the most basic level.
Humans that live in isolation or alone often don't live that long.

Neither does a commission check. It's just a promissory note, accepted according to one's faith in the issuer.
If you were truly loving and full of grace, would you consign those you love to everlasting torment for failing to kiss your ass and serve you faithfully? Why would I expect a Christian person to be less maliciously motivated?
Of the ones named, would you say the less diverse (race, religion, ideology) cultures seem to be the more contented?
Good point. Yes, I think people are more contented if they do not need to deal in their daily lives with neighbors whose cultural values are different from their own. Which is exactly why God's second commandment is to "love thy neighbor as thyself"---because it is so hard to do spontaneously when the neighborhood becomes diverse. Funny how that commandment falls on deaf ears among Christians, who are so quick to trumpet the other ten.

Affirmative ; and ill hitch-hike on what you said by saying that a person who has found deep seated fulfillment in terms of their very purpose to being alive (ultimate purpose) , is a truly filled individual. The highest of all known purpose and fulfillment comes from beyond what we can muster up ; people relentlessly try to fill the void in their restless hearts with a plethera of things/people/experiences/getting feelings satisfied/power/prestige/et al...to no avail. The only permanent lasting fulfillment comes from realizing our ""ultimate"" purpose , that being, a real and personal relationship with the Creator of the Cosmos in whos image we were created . Apart from this, everything else is a passing-fancy...like the smell of a new car that eventually wears off ---- titilating for a time, till it fades.
