Nice to see someone that has the balls to get out there and do something they believe in..... no one needs 900 whales a year to do research.

Also, they should not be allowed to sell the meat. I've never heard of any research that requires the meat to be sold.....

So, you'd prefer to see the whales left to rot after research is done?

-----------------------------

I'd put these guys on the same level as those who show up to riot at G8 (and other similar events). They raise a lot of hell, make a big show for their cause and accomplish pretty well nothing of substance.

Assuming that the claim that the Japanese are hunting only Minke whales is correct, their entire cause is an exercise in emotional ignorance. If the Japanese whalers are, in fact, targeting other species, then their entire course of action is pointless, irrational, and frankly, detrimental to their cause. If they were to document other species being taken, rather than throw acid, they'd do themselves a world of good.

Why don't these Sea Shepherds bother the Chinese shark fin boats? Shark fin harvesting is certainly illegal, not like whaling.

Or the Russians for whatever imagined aqua transgression they may be committing?

Almost certainly because they know their actions can be construed as piracy, and they don't have the minerals to face the consequences of those actions.

They are not doing research on the whales. If you paid attention you would see it is a factory ship where the meat is frozen and the Japans's law says it has to be sold..... christ, open your eyes and ears and pay attention.

Regarding the rest, if you all watched it, you would see that Watson is heading to other areas to do exactly what you want him to do.... google it and you will see he is heading to other areas, including Iceland...

You do realize he is only one man, right?

Yeah, I saw Capt Clueless trying to inflict bodily harm to fisherman of other species around the world on You Tube and then claim he's a victim.

In my opinion, justice will not be served until a Japanese naval escort takes the necessary action to protect it's whaling fleet in international waters. The Sea Monkeys are nothing more than the Wile E Coyote's of terror on the high seas. Even on the biased Animal Planet show, they are a step above "total incompetence".

I do not wish any harm upon the lemmings that choose to crew these garbage scows, but I would definitely have no displeasure to see the Sea Monkey fleet put down to Davy Jones locker.

If you think wales are just big blubbery people who happen to like swimming around and making cute noises then the Sea Shepard crew are heroes . However if whales are animals then hunting them, under certain conditions, is entirely reasonable and the Sea Shepard's actions are... not entirely reasonable.

I don't see the problem with hunting species which have sufficent numbers to suggest they are not vulnerable to a certain whaling quota. So long as it's monitored and interested parties stick to the agreement then we all should be satisfied.

The "whaling is just wrong" argument makes no sense to me, if a group of people want to whale that's fine so long as it's sustainable. The problem is that it's the centrefold of the environmentalist movement regardless of the fact there are more pressing issues such as overfishing and land degradation. On top of that you have countries such as Australia trying to take advantage of the issue to strengthen its largely unrecognised territorial claims to parts of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.

The are rather inept as seamen and some of thier tactics are questionable but they are the only ones really doing anything.
