I don't think there is any meaning other than what we each decide. To believe there is a meaning makes the days go easier I guess and gives people a reason to get up in the morning. Once our basic needs are met, we begin asking ourselves these questions because "this just can't be it, right?"

I think it's liberating to think that this is it....

We hope to validate our existence through searching for meaning. We cannot comprehend the vastness of whatever there is, on whatever planes, but we try to understand and it gives us comfort that we are at least searching for answers. Otherwise, we know virtually nothing and that's okay.

What was "the meaning of life" before there were humans to wonder that the meaning is?

Can I have your liver?

Physically, the meaning of life is to give the process of entropy some laughs as it works.

Philosophically, one interesting thought is that the ultimate goal of life is to create God. Consider that if evolution is taken to a full extension, what started as single cell organisms are now grouped together as humans, who can comprehend and work with most physical laws. If that works out, and there is growth upon that, then it may end up becoming possible for beings to create new universes. If not, their meat is probably going to be tasty to Cluthu or whatever.

If this is the case, then your meaning has no more import than any of the others offered in this thread. However, since no other life form on Planet Earth has the reasoning intelligence to ponder the meaning of its life, many of us here would tend to disagree with you.

That's why this is a debate.

But you haven't offered a reason why you would disagree with me, except to say that humans have the intellect to disagree.

There is no objective meaning to life. We all have our own goals and dreams which being meaning to our life.

Meaning of life is to work as much as possible, so we can spend all the money in different shopping places and service providers...

Hope, no one's gonna challenge that. The evidence is enormous!
