Women now comprise more than 50% of the work force in industrialized countries, and at last count, 49.9% of all workers in the USA. Women account for about 60% of college degrees.
So, women are doing most of the work.
AND being paid less for it.
AND carrying, bearing and nurturing the children besides.
What are the implications of that? What do men contribute?
Oh come on! Women have it better now than they ever have. More opportuntites in both college and the workplace, and a far higher median income than women had in, say, the 1980's. (And yes--of course I'm adjusting for inflation.) As far as your comment that they get payed less, that is very midleading, since many people take that tomean they get payed less for doing the same job as men. This is not true. Women earn a slightly lower median salary than men because they very often take less-demanding jobs that offer more flexibility in hours, as well as allowing them more time off, for things like maternity leave and personal days. In over 20 years in the workplace I have never been employed somehere where the women their didn't take more time off then men. Further, women are very aware of this, and not only accept it, but welcome this trade-off--higher work-schedule flexibility for slightly lower annual income. A woman in the same position and doing the same quality and amount of work as a man will get payed the same. Those days of gender discrimination have been over for years.
How long has it been since you've worked with women? Just wondering.

Flash-I'm glad you have a sense of humor! When I posted those jokes, I was fuming from the post by expect and the ones by Chef Beefaroni on other threads. I was using humor to defuse myself! I was going to post this one too. But, it didn't make as much sense to me.
Men are like blenders, women know they need one they just don't know why.
I know why we need one...to make daiquiris, margaritas, toasted almonds, chocolate-banana malts, smoothies, etc.
From what i saw in my career 'woman are becoming more the foreman than the salve as time goes on. It will still take some years but tehy in many fields will surpass men as man actaully start to wain and more become the labor pool that is less and less needed. Why because women have since WWII come into working away from the home and with the changes in society they are realising that they need to be prepared to suport themseleves and children and become less dependent on men. I the past the saying that a wife is one move from poverty and that move was divorsce. Women have satrted to change that now days and no long have to saty in a bad marriage. Need spurs sucess as they say.
