By the way, you did notice the forum title (Green Living), right? I guess that would make contained threads part of the "Green Living" theme, would it not?

The forum is Green Living, the OP on the other hand had nothing to do with Green Living....
Not a crusade, just tired of seeing people hijack threads like you've done.

For the record, when a post is made in a particular topic forum (regardless if the OP specifically mentions that topic in their posts) then discussion of the global forum topic with relation to the specific thread is implied, expected and permissible... otherwise, they should have posted in a different forum.
