There have been many schemes on how to clean up the gyres' that exist in the worlds oceans, but that's just it, they are schemes. The vastness of the areas in question are mind boggling when you figure there are 314 million square miles of ocean, and it's not just the gyres' that have this problem. More power to him if he can come up with a viable way to accomplish this, but for now it would be nothing more than an exercise in futility. The problem needs to be stopped at the source, I have now idea of how that would be accomplished.
