Wrote it down to the end but now I have the rare honor of having exhausted the ink in the pen (one usually loses them first).

So now, how does one recycle it......especially after seeing that video of the sea turtle with the plastic straw in its nose.

Make sure it gets inside the garbage can, and do not toss it in the water.

I use the Parker Jotter ink pen. It's a metal pen with replacement ink cartridges also made of metal. These cartridges last far longer than Bic and other disposable pens thus better for the environment. They also write better. Though more expensive, they last longer and thus cost less in the long run.

In my city, we can recycle the hard plastic. I'd disassemble the pen and recycle the outer part.

You won't be able to place pens in your curbside recycling bin, but there are avenues for recycling them. The easiest way to recycle pens will be send them to your recyclers.
