Are you now, or are you planning on, investing in stocks of any alternative-energy companies? One would think that given the current environmental outlook, this would be the time to get in on the ground floor. If so, what companies have you invested in and why?

I've invested in a Canada-based company called Hydrogenics (ticker symbol HYGS). They're a manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cells which most experts say look to be one of the major future fuel alternatives. The stock is incredibly cheap now, less than $1/share on the NASDAQ. IMO this is the kind of thing to buy now, put aside and completely forget about for the next 15 years to allow the technology and marketplace to catch up.... at which point this and other hydrogen fuel cell company stocks may be trading at $40-$50 or more. They may well be the BPs, Exxons, etc of the 2030s. But it requires extreme patience and a long-term view, which some investors just aren't comfortable with. These stocks are not for 'flippers'!

Has anyone else here 'invested green'?

An alternative energy ETF (WilderHill Power Shares) but not any one company. I don't have a lot of faith in hydrogen (I don't see hydrogen as having any advantage over CNG at all).
