I do find it interesting that the first toys they are accepting are also toys that have a lot of collectable value for certain items. Will they be sorting the toys and setting aside items that might have more value as collectables than as raw materials? Or will everything be shredded and reused?

I WISH I had held on to my old Barbies. I also wish I'd kept their hair nice. 60's Barbies are worth a lot of money.


But I was rough on my Barbies. They went swimming in our pool quite often.

That just means you attained the full value of owning them, which was having fun as a kid. Let alone the free time it gave your folks, LOL.

Of course they want them back. Keeps them out of garage sales and resale stores. "Recycle" the old toys into landfills and increase sales by 3%, convince people you are being "green" and become more popular - win win.
