In 1961, JFK challenged us to put a man safely on the moon and return him by the end of the decade. It was done in 1969 - eight years. Though we had rockets, the technology to do the rest of this did not even exist.

Could we create one million electric cars in seven years? Well, since we've had them already - and still have them in smaller scales like golf carts - of course it's doable!

If we use private sector money, the corporations will do it and make a profit at it. If we wait for the government money and regulations, we'll be using gas and oil until the last dinosaur runs dry.

That would be one hell of an extension cord for us in NJ that commute to NYC

I don't understand why they keep pushing for all these new engines that ultimately still use fossil fuels.

A friend of mine modified his riding mower to run on water, any water. It doesn't have to be distilled or anything. He did this in his small garage with minimal investment.

The only emissions is water vapor which he said could be reused. He also said he could use sea water and just put a filter on it an extract any minerals in the water which could then also be used.

It uses a normal battery which is recharged with the alternator just like any engine but it burns the hydrogen instead of gas.

Water is pretty abundant especially if you use seawater.

I wonder where we are going to get the electrical energy to recharge the plug-in cars. I hope for nuclear power with full fuel recycle but expect we will use coal for fuel as the mining lobbyists want.
