Chrysler LLC and their Gas/Electric Vehicle debut! (Prius, minivan, price)

Chrysler is releasing their intentions of Plug-in vehicles, for the Chrysler Minivan and Jeep Wrangler, by the end of 2010. It does the same thing as the new Chevy Volt and the new generation Toyota Prius.

But the humdinger is that they are releasing an all electric car, dubbed the Dodge EV. Everything is still hushed about the release of the Dodge EV, but bloggers and afficianados are saying the early part of 2011.

I saw the debut on CNBC this morning. The car does 0-60 in 5 seconds and gets 200 miles on a charge. Charges in 4 hours on 220v or 8 hours on 115v.

If I heard correctly, Chrysler is making it's entire product line electric/gas backup with ranges of 400 miles on 8-10 gals of gas.

I think price point is going to be the first big issue, as well as building the infrastructure for all the parts needed to start building this type of car in large quantity. Hopefully my current vehicles will last until these vehicles are main stream.

They are already developed, just need to get them at a lower price.
