Navy Wins, Whales Lose U.S. Supreme Court Sonar Case

The court, in a 6-3 decision, ruled that a lower court judge had wrongly allowed the environmental impacts of the training exercises to trump U.S. national security interests.

This is a regrettable decision. The court was wrong to side with the military masters of unnecessary waste and wanton destruction.

And getting back to reality many navies of the world specifically China and Russia have a lot submarines running around. It's regrettable these training exercises harm whales but they are necessary.

Even more regrettable this foolishness would not stop a well designed sub or attack.

I sort of figured the military had sort of lost its bearings a few years ago when they started looking for environmentally friendly ICBM rocket fuel. Green Nuke Weapons.

these exercises are not necessary

they can run simulations, no need to actually use the sonar for real

the Navy just wants to keep getting paid, and need to make sure they look busy

the sonar is just a sonar, it is what you do with the information that you get from it that matters

the navy can pretend to use the sonar, no need to actually activate it

just come up with different scenarios to test your sailors
