This is a really awesome thread.

I love the idea of living simply.

Has anyone ever looked into the Tiny House craze? They're really awesome. I think it takes the most effort to alter that which is such a large part of your life - your living space/utilities, etc. This would be a great step for those looking to downsize even more.

Can you imagine running everything in that sucker off solar panels? Yessss!

Tumbleweed Tiny House Company
One of the many companies and sites offering tools and blueprints for these tiny and effecient homes.

One day, once I'm settled, this will most likely be my route.

And to bring it back on topic - congratulations x 100, OP. So many people are struggling with debt, and it is awesome that you were able to get out and find a wonderful lifestyle in the meantime.

Suze Orman says that the very severity of the crisis means that we will be forced to make lasting changes that will put us on a path to a healthier and more vibrant future.

She feels that this crisis helps us to see clearly what went wrong causing us to make adjustments from living beyond our means to an age of living a more meaningful life.

While we have to survive the credit crisis and recession we will prevail and we will thrive again as we become savers instead of spenders and set a goal to live a debt-free life.
