Sure did. Looks dangerous, doesn't it?

Wow, that thing could star in a Stephen King movie, LOL!

Also, as a FYI "Murphy's Law" side note: This morning I decided to order the Remington mower and started checking various sites to find the best price. First site I checked was the manufacturer's and saw it at $499.99. Then went to Amazon where I found it flagged as "No longer available". Hm, too bad, Amazon had the best price previously. Then checked out an independent site but the page for the mower contained the notice that "This item has been discontinued and is no longer available". Discontinued, huh, what? Remington's site said nothing about it being a closeout....

So back to Remington's site I went to poke around for a Customer Service phone number. What I found was an interesting small-print paragraph saying that DESA (the company that owns/is Remington) filed for bankruptcy in its home state in late December 20008. Also that "Effective as of May 15, 2009, MTD Southwest Inc ("MTD") purchased certain assets of DESA, including "Remington" trademarks for certain outdoor lawn and garden power equipment. MTD did not assume any liabilities or warranty obligations of DESA."

Which explains why the mower is no longer being produced; the new owners of the company must have decided it was not cost-effective, and there's no way I'm going to buy something that has absolutely no warranty obligation attached to it.

Guess I should be glad I procrastinated long enough to not buy it a month ago. Oh well, back to dithering again. I really did like the light weight and corded option of that mower though. It would have saved me having to buy a second (backup) battery which I'll have to do if I buy any of the other brands.
