Asheville NC (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point: unemployment, moving, suburbs)

My family is in Southeast Texas thinking about Asheville North Carolina and surrounding area. We'd like some info about suburbs, good areas for kids, etc.

Be sure to line up a job before moving, unemployment is not good in NC at this time.
