Heavy-equipment maker Caterpillar Thursday showed off its Winston-Salem factory, still under construction, to about 200 community leaders. The plant is scheduled to employ about 510 full-time and contract workers once it reaches full production by late 2013 or early 2014.

This has been great news for the area. Yet I fell unless the economy turns around. They may end up going the ways of Dell.

During the company tour they stated "We're not going to pick this up and move it somewhere else." Caterpillar insists it's no Dell

I may have misspoke to some extent. Dell leaving the area was more of a shot of many factors. If the world and the US dips into more economic woes. They may still be here but in a very limited way. I hope for the best.

Its great news with the new plant for Winston Salem but does anyone believe
