I've been looking for a job since January and for the life of me can not get an job let alone an interview in the Triad. I've reduced my salary requirements significantly, have over 8 years experience in marketing and a college degree. Two weeks ago I signed up with a temp agency and I haven't had anything come in from them either. Is the area in a job slump or am I not connected enough? We moved here last year and my first job was one that I worked out of the house so I haven't met a lot of people.

Dude, you're not the only one, this is the reason I moved away from Greensboro back in 2003. It's a shame because it's such a nice area but there are no jobs. I've been looking ever since leaving and I can not find anything. I hope you'll find something soon. Good luck.

But they hold job fairs every spring and fall. What's the reason for that??

Tell me about it! I wasted a lot of time going to those so called "Job Fairs" but had no luck. Most of the employers were not even Greensboro based, they were recruiting for other areas which I had no interest in.

Default Know the feeling

I lost my job a year ago. It was also home based. I couldn't even find a job to apply for and I had over 15 years in HR Tech Consulting. So I changed careers. Got my Real Estate License. Now that market has slowed.

Good Luck!

I have actually had really good luck finding available positions here but I have sent out hundreds of resumes, I have a Bachelors degree with several years of experience. Most of what I apply for is on TriadCareers.com. It took a few weeks to start getting calls but after that I had lots of luck, things move slow around here so you may want to give it some more time, it takes a while to get through the process for a lot of the local businesses. With your Marketing degree have you tried Market America in Greensboro? They had a lot of openings not too long ago. Good luck!!

It is nice to know about the change you made. Actually doing jobs all these years does not provide any financial and time freedom. As you say even real estate has slowed down. It is kind of required to have a permanent source of income and happiness. May be i can share some details with you if you are serious about it of time.

Good luck

Hi,

By now you must have sure had a good and steady job. No doubt initially it might be difficult, but as you gain the in contacts, the path becomes bright and clear. However, the question is how long does one carry on with the job working for others with no control on your time and choice? Isn't there a need to change all this.

Good luck

I have also been trying to find a legal job in the area for over a year. There does not seem to be any out there! I can't even get a reply from an agency and I have submitted my resume repeatedly. I have 21 years of experience as a legal secretary/paralegal. I would take any kind of admin or executive assistant job. Can't find those either. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can look next? We want to move to the Pilot Mountain, Mt. Airy area. Have been to visit many times and just love it and the people. Any help would be appreciated!
