I am looking to speak with anyone who has experience or knowledge of the special education system and coordinating health options (specifically therapy PT/OT/ST) for children in surrounding Greensboro areas.
My husband currently works for Volvo IT in Allentown PA and we were thinking of making a switch to the Greensboro office & move the family to surrounding rural area. We have a 3 year old special needs child and a baby due in August. Need to know as much from the parents point of view about special ed & health options before considering anything further.
Any help would be great. Any websites with info would be great or I'd be willing to give my email address to anyone who is willing to discuss info with me.
We are just south in Randolph County. I assume you have an official/written diagnosis for your child. At 3, you would contact the school system exceptional children dept. I am not well versed in the special education system in Greensboro/Guilford County area, but I know services through school vary greatly depending on the severity of the child's disability. My son is 12-1/2 and has autism. We have fought for years to maintain minimal services, other than placement is a special ed classroom.
